📥 How Downloads Work

Every file you download from Kanji is unique to your account. It is generated specifically for you with an embedded watermark. This means:

1. You request a download in the #downloads channel in our Discord server.
2. The bot generates a personalized file with your unique watermark.
3. You receive a one-time download link that expires after 5 minutes.
4. Click the link to download your file. The link becomes invalid immediately after use.

🛡️ Antivirus False Positives

Your antivirus might flag Kanji as suspicious. This is a false positive — it happens because our software uses advanced techniques that antivirus programs don't recognize. Kanji is completely safe.

1. Press Windows key, type Windows Security, open it.
2. Click Virus & threat protection.
3. Scroll down, click Manage settings.
4. Scroll to Exclusions, click Add or remove exclusions.
5. Click Add an exclusion → Folder → select the Kanji folder.

1. Open your antivirus settings.
2. Look for Exclusions / Exceptions / Whitelist.
3. Add the entire Kanji folder.

🌐 Browser Warnings

Your browser might show a warning when downloading the file. Here's how to bypass it:

1. When the warning appears, click the arrow (˅) next to the warning.
2. Select Keep or Keep anyway.
3. If Chrome says "dangerous": Ctrl+J → Keep dangerous file.

1. Click the download arrow (↓) top right.
2. Right-click the file in the list.
3. Select Allow download.

🪟 SmartScreen Warning

Windows might show a blue SmartScreen popup saying "Windows protected your PC." Here's how to get past it:

1. On the blue popup, click the small text More info.
2. A new button appears: click Run anyway.
3. Kanji will start normally.

🆔 HWID Mismatch

If Kanji reports a HWID mismatch on launch, your hardware binding doesn't match. This happens after major hardware changes, BIOS updates or a fresh Windows install.

1. Join our Discord server.
2. Go to #ticket and open a new ticket.
3. Briefly describe what changed (new GPU, new SSD, reinstall, etc.).
4. A team member will reset your HWID binding. Then restart Kanji.

🛠️ Cleaner Driver Not Mapping

If the Kanji cleaner driver fails to map, Windows is most likely blocking it through Virtualization-Based Security.

1. Press Win + R, type cmd, press Ctrl + Shift + Enter (run as Admin).
2. Open regedit.
3. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\DeviceGuard
4. Find or create DWORD EnableVirtualizationBasedSecurity, set to 0.
5. Restart your system.
